Joy Riding In The Park |
The stability issues were addressed by stuffing some coil springs obtained from Junky George's between the axle and the body to improve the ride and it did just that, setting the angle of the vehicle much steeper than factory specs would call for. The tires were a brand new set of the kind you turn in when they put a new set of tires on your vehicle. There was a perceptible groove left in all of the treads, enough to give one his young age the confidence that he was riding high on recycled rubber. |
He ventured out with his 2 buddies on an early fall day, just after a light rain, enough to smear the residual oil pool on the road and add a barely perceptible slick on the road surface. All 3 were having some fun throttling through the dips in Bidwell Park at a blazing 35mph. "Step on it!" exclaimed one, and a "Yeah Step on it", so he did, and they went zooming down the dip at a breakneck 40mph.
